A great perspective from Manda Scott offered by @kteague in her video series on Visionary Thinkers. Watch until the end to hear about Thrutopia.

I’m glad you shared this, @ellenkdance … the talk with Manda was great, but it also led me to discover the rest of Katie’s visionary thinkers video series… which I have begun making my way through. Really appreciate what Katie is up to.

The ending of this video with Manda Scott was really moving for me. Although I felt something was lacking from her analysis on how we just jump ship from existing systems to entirely new architectures overnight, I know that total systems collapses can sometimes create conditions for totally new and more sane/adaptive systems to emerge. The thing I fear is that these wretched systems (that are clearly dying) will be nevertheless clung to (for _psychological_ reasons, if nothing else) until their full project of ecological destruction and social subordination is complete… far beyond any rewards or returns being worthwhile.

These ideas should no longer be fringe, they have mainstream relevance… where is the mass messaging and campaigning seeking to change the tide of society? It really does seem that enough aware, educated, sensible individuals need to rise up in a coordinated, diverse coalition to mount an actual pushback (i.e. revolution) with political teeth… where are the organizers of this? What’s the vision for unifying a murmuration of wise PEOPLE that can actually become a force large enough to reclaim and shift systems with the urgency and imperative Manda speaks of?

This piece by Jeremy Johnson & Cynthia Bourgeault ; a interesting take
on Systems & their Structures with our notions of Time!?!?

> Viewed through the lens of cultural philosopher Jean Gebser (1905-1973), the source of our present social turmoil becomes immediately apparent: we are stuck on the cusp of a very hard and painful transition between two structures of consciousness.

# **The Rise of Digital Shamanism: How Social Media is Crafting Real-World Positive Change**

## **Imagine harnessing the ancient wisdom of shamans and fusing it with the power of the internet. That’s exactly what digital shamanism is all about. By blending age-old [spiritual practices](https://adontai.substack.com/p/ancient-wisdom-for-modern-times?utm_source=profile&utm_medium=reader2) with modern technology, digital shamans are creating ripples of positive change through social media platforms.**

> _“Digital shamanism is not just a trend; it’s a movement towards a more connected and conscious digital community,” remarks Dr. Jane Smith, a leading researcher in digital cultures._

From live-streamed meditation sessions to community healing events hosted on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, these modern-day shamans are making spiritual guidance accessible to anyone with an internet connection. And it’s not just about spirituality — it’s about creating a supportive, uplifting online environment that fosters real-world benefits.

These digital shamans harness the power of social media to build inclusive communities. You might find a group dedicated to mindfulness practices, where people from different walks of life come together to share their experiences and support each other’s journeys. The blend of ancient wisdom and modern technology creates a rich tapestry of learning and healing.

Beyond guided meditations and healing sessions, these influencers also provide a wealth of resources. Think downloadable guides, self-help workshops, and interactive Q&A sessions. By doing so, they bridge the gap between traditional knowledge and contemporary needs. This approach not only makes spiritual growth more attainable but also democratizes access to tools and techniques that were once reserved for the few.

One of the most profound impacts of digital shamanism is the sense of connection it fosters. Through hashtags, direct messages, and community events, you can engage with like-minded individuals, creating a support network that transcends physical geography. This virtual kinship can be particularly empowering for those who may feel isolated in their offline lives.

Moreover, these modern shamans often address pressing societal issues, integrating social activism into their spiritual practices. Whether it’s promoting [mental health](https://adontai.substack.com/p/ancient-wisdom-for-modern-times?utm_source=profile&utm_medium=reader2) awareness, advocating for environmental sustainability, or supporting social justice movements, their efforts contribute to broader positive change.

As you explore these online sanctuaries, you’ll likely find that the blend of ancient traditions and modern platforms offers a unique and powerful path toward personal and collective growth. In this digital age, shamanism isn’t just surviving — it’s thriving, and opening doors for positive transformation accessible from the comfort of your own home.

As someone who identifies as a dancer I appreciate this so much. I am a movement specialist with 40 years of teaching experience and one thing I know is that young humans hear the music beyond the sound, know the language beyond the words, and feel the connection to earth beyond the physical.
