It's the usual story. I grew up on a farm in the boondocks of Pennsylvania. Turns out I was some kind of superbright. I naturally read at very high speed, and remembered what I read, particularly loving science, science fiction, and history. At age 11 I came across my first serious book on occultism and magic, and decided that I should study those topics intensively to see if there were clues to understanding the human mind hidden in those traditions, and yeah, some magic powers would be cool too. (Give me a break, I was eleven, and it was 1967.) The rest, as they say, is history.

At sixty-ish, I am a world class expert on our planet's esoteric systems, an artist, adventurer, activist, writer, and philosopher, and mumble mumble. Self employed since 1986, internet online since '89 (bbsing from 87), a web developer since 1998 to date (I consider the planetary net my natural habitat and culture), and now focused on becoming an author.
