John, I just finished Part 3 and wanted to say a few things about Marico’n. The writing is beautifully done, the piece lushly cinematic, engrossing. The photos magnificent. Felt like I was not only watching a film but IN that film, a bystander, as I was reading along… The rose unfolding, darkening…

Thank you so much, Maia, for your warm response. Under the Volcano is on my list to read while I still have my wits about me. I saw the movie years ago and now that that memory has faded, I shall summon up the strength, after finishing up a few more projects, and make that book a top priority. I look forward to future conversations!
