A Comet crashes into the Cosmos - Hello from the new Community Host!

Hi everyone!

I’m Comet - the new Community Host for this forum of Infinite Conversations. I am also the new Tech Support for Cosmos Co-op.

Technology and conversations facilitated through such has been a part of my life for about 25 years and I’m currently training with a mentor to become a Computer Networking Specialist.

In my free time, I draw and paint, with an experience of 20 years in the field of Visual Arts. I’m also fond of literature, recently dedicating more time to cultivate my craft of writing. Poems hold a special spot in my heart. Video games and music are some other areas I’m passionate about.

I’m excited to join this community of Cosmos and grow closer to everyone here as I help around the forum.

I would love to hear more about what you’ve been looking forward to creating conversation around. Feel free to reply to this post or send me an email at comet@cosmos.coop

If you need any technical assistance on the forum, feel free to send me an email at support@cosmos.coop or simply send me a private message here.

There’s also an actual comet here these days too. Colorado stargazers are in for ‘extra-special’ treats this October with 7 meteor showers and 2 comets | PostIndependent.com

Welcome, Comet, to our local sky! You have many gifts, clearly, one of them being generosity, which is very much appreciated. Would love to know more about your drawing and painting. What sort of music(s) do you find inspiring? And poetries (sic), likewise?

Well, we do seem to have a cosmological theme going here. So I will add that my name, Maia, is the name of one of the major stars in the constellation Pleiades…

Thank you from every direction at once, Maia/Ariadne

Hey there Maia! It’s nice to meet you
As for my drawing and painting, I tend to do vibrant, colorful pieces. Here’s a piece I complete a while ago, with a filter on it (can’t find the original right now)

I like a wide variety of music! From metal and rock to R&B and Electronica. For poems, I’m a bit cheesy and I really adore love poems.

Cool name! I love the cosmos

It’s good to meet you again Sreedevi!

Thanks, Comet. Your artwork here actually reminds me of some things I’ve seen when magic mushrooms morph my surroundings. The flowing curves especially. And I smiled when I noticed that heart, it fits with your love of love poems. I would guess that you write them yourself? I dont feel there is any deeply felt topic that is too - too for poetry, especially “love”! But I think I know how exposing it can feel, putting your soul-work “out there”! I haven’t filled out my profile much but I am a writer (fiction and poetry, and love watercolor abstracts with hints of definition, am trying to learn how to do memoir/essay like pieces, and I also consider letters (lover letters, too!)to be an art form!
Looking forward to more, and also to meeting Comet, the Tech Untangler!

Btw, I was intrigued by your avatar: Medusa, yes? Can you say what she means to you? My avatar is a spirit horse, connecting me to ongoing explorations of turtle island (vs united states) and to my maternal native (Eastern Band Cherokee/Tsalagi ) inheritance.

Oh that’s awesome. Magic mushrooms are quite a treat. I’m glad to hear it reminded you of those times.

For love poems - I write some myself but I also love reading work from other poets. Love letters are definitely an art form!

Yes, it’s Medusa texting on a phone. Truth be told, I just thought she would look cool as a community host on an online forum!
