Hello Cosmo-nauts!
I recently came across PatternDynamics, a “language” for working with systems. I am interested in finding out whether anyone in this community or beyond might be interested in inviting the creators of Pattern Dynamics to give an in-person workshop, as some of it involves embodied movement.
So, what is PatternDynamics? PatternDynamics is a systems thinking tool for creating systems level change. Here is an introductory video I created featuring the originator giving a presentation about it. And here is a blog post about Pattern Dynamics.
It consists of a set of 1st order and 2nd order glyphs that capture different patterns of dynamics in living systems. For example, the first order glyphs consist of Rhythm, Polarity, Structure, Exchange, Creativity, and Dynamics. They all derive from Source. The second order glyphs are generated when you combine all of them with each other. So, rhythm and rhythm gives you repetition, but rhythm and polarity gives you swing. If a system is stuck in a particular pattern, this is useful for seeing what other pattern would help it transform.
I am interested in your comments about this and whether you would be interested in participating in an in-person workshop (probably over a weekend). If there’s enough interest, we’ll make it happen!
Leave a comment if you are interested in this or have any questions!
Thanks,
Lisa
