Hi @cosmos-creatives and @cosmos-supporters ! Sorry for the very late notice… This is to announce we’re continuing the monthly tradition of Creative Showcases on THIS WEDNESDAY, August 26th!

Due to some weirdness with our “recurring events” settings on Cosmos.coop—the Events listing page lists the event as happening August 26th, but when you click on it it says July 23rd. Weird! (Fortunately I believe our dev team is working on a total upgrade to our events page system… so hopefully this will be fixed soon.)

Also unfortunately we’ve been in transition between community newsletter writers (thankfully, @DHillman has just joined our team and will be helping with this!)

So anyway… snafus all around :woman_facepalming:t4:

BUT it’s still gonna happen if anyone can make it! Here’s the details:

Have you been working on something creative, and now you feel ready to present what you’re creating to the community? Bring it to one of our online creative showcases!

In the spirit of our local events called Stellar Sundays, we are opening up an online showcase for our members to share what they’re creating with an audience—and get feedback (if they want!) Similar to an open mic, but with only 3–4 featured guests per session.

These events will take place on the fourth Wednesdays of the month, online, from 6-7:30pm MT. Featured presenters will be promoted in advance on the event billing and in our promotional newsletters and social media. They’ll also end up with a video recording of their presentation.

  • Who can present? Creative Members will receive priority, however ANY Cosmos member can sign up.
    • To sign up to present: complete this short form!
    • Note: Only members of Cosmos Co-op are permitted to present/perform. Join here.
    • The sooner you sign up, the sooner we can help promote your presentation!
  • Who is in the audience? Everyone in our community is invited to attend! We encourage our community to show up and support the creativity flowing out of Cosmos.
    • To show up as a supportive audience member: simply join the zoom link at the date & time of the event. These events will take place at cosmos.coop/zoom/community

:megaphone: First artist announced! Our own @Lisa Maroski will be doing a dramatic reading at this showcase.

Happening tomorrow, 6pm MT, on the Community Zoom line.

See you all in about 20 minutes! Hope to see some friendly faces there. Lisa Maroski will have the stage first, and then if other Creative Members want to present, we’ll have time available for 1-2 more presenters.

Also big thank you to @Fileon and @DHillman for helping get the newsletter together, which I just sent out to our list. So hopefully some fresh faces will join us, too! :grinning_face:

With having regular newsletters & promotion capacity going forward, we’d love to help promote the artists appearing and performing in these showcases ahead of time. So this is your nudge to sign up early for the next showcase if you want to be featured!

FYI September’s showcase is in transition… the proposal is to have it be a live, in-person Colorado Local Hub showcase. Stay tuned for more details on that. We’ll get the event pages up & sorted out soon.

did the newsletter go out to all members? I haven’t received one yet.

Sorry that I missed this @care_save and presenters! I was really hoping to be able to make it but Wednesday are tricky for me ATM. I look forward to finding a way to participate moving forward!
PS: I have not received the letter yet either…
