Deniz’ works are poignant, playful, and manifest from a reality that is part individual and part universal. I am brought back to my grandmother’s sun room, where I would pour through all manners of books from the 20s, 30s and 40s, including old encyclopedias- it was awakening to an entire cosmic ecosystem. These paintings evoke a similar feeling. And there is love present, and a lightness of heart, as one is called to discover and re-discover origins of ourselves in delight and animal consciousness.
