Gebser makes clear that the unitary act; that is, conscious doing, has much to do with the magic structure of consciousness, but I wonder how Mr. Robbins understands the notion of “magic”.
(Arthur C.) Clarke’s third law states that " Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic," and skills and disciplines have a close affinity to technology (after all, we develop “tools” to extend our physical capabilities). So I wonder if the writers (Clarke and Robbins) have a more similar understanding of “magic”, and maybe Gebser’s the odd-man-out?

I am Feeling that Gesber’s oddness (of magic) is referenced on page 46 EPO with his etymological use of linking the history of words like “make”,“mechanism”… & Magic as You reference- the Unitary Act. Clarke & Robbins are Artist (writers of the fictional form);Gesber is an Artist (writer of the movement of Consciousness within Humans),I Feel-Think they Share in the Interest of the Unitary Act.
The Intensity of Sensory Experience, brings it seems a “making”, a “happening”-“letting happen”, a Techne( The word technology comes from two Greek words , transliterated techne and logos. Techne means art, skill, craft, or the way, manner, or means by which a thing is gained. … So, literally, technology means words or discourse about the way things are gained.). To quote Gesber pg.46 "Therewith arose the germ of a “Need” : that of no longer being “in” the world but of “having” the world.
Maybe just maybe; if we “Move Work With” the Intense “Coterminous” Edge/s of Being In the World and Having “a-the” World we are In, as Nick Walker is pointing too,Magic,Music, & Miracles along with all the Many Human & Non-Human Earthlings, Can:

Techne is the greek goddess of art, technical skill, craft and invention. She is the hild of Hephaestus and Aphrodite. (Aphrodite: passion/love and Hephaestus: craft, physical alchemy?) I believe it’s important, maybe crucial, to stay connected to the roots of languages that feed into our metaphorical lives as “moderns”.
Magic is, in my own experience and understanding, not primarily technological, though, more like a heightened or uncommon but natural tempo-spatial nexus of energy and knowledge able to create something not commonly perceivable. Something like that!
Michael, the video would only play in fits and starts for me, and then stopped altogether 3/4 of the way through, but I really connect to the experience of finding joy in intense but tiny sensations…and “when you treat something as a fight, that becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy”. Feel like I’m doing mental/emotional Aikido all the time, practicing a large, equanimous response to “attacks” of any nature: revelatory and liberating encounters can arise from here. And when they don’t, you recycle the reactions to THAT, if you can.

At the beginning of this podcast Michael Meade states: “This is not just the dark time of the year, but increasingly dark times for everyone, especially for those who care for the souls of other people and for the well-being of the earth we all live on.” He goes on to describe how ancient symbols and practices at the Winter Solstice served as a reminder of the cosmological connection between the human soul and the hidden unity of life.
Symbols have the power to bring the mind and the heart together and connect us to the deepest truths of life. A Christmas tree can stand for the Tree of Life, as it represents both the still point at the center and the power of life to change and renew itself. Simply lighting a single candle in the midst of darkness can be a reminder of the eternal process of renewal and restoration that is an essential, yet easily forgotten aspect of all of life.
