Thank you very much for the heads up about Jennifer Gidley’s work. I have been reading “The Evolution of Consciousness as a Planetary Imperative” and am really super into it. I’m so happy to see Steiner being given his credit and due, also loving the emphasis on aesthetics and participation.
For anyone interested in a kind of supplement to the longer article mentioned above, this has been an interesting dialogue so far that looks more specifically at integral education:
Thanks for posting this, Andrew. I read it when we were reading Gidley a few months ago. You might appreciate that Cafe we had on her work. Many of the current themes we are wrestling with were explored during the Gidley effort. She is worth revisiting. It is my ambition to complete a few distinctions. This is no easy task when the collective metaphorical landscape is shifting so quickly. That is why I ask us to chunk down and chunk slow. And take a deep breath and relax…and relax some more…and Ashberry, I imagine, knew how to do this, too. Much of his poetry comes from the juxtapositions of fast and fleeting with very slow and peripheral…as he gazed into that convex mirror…
Thank you @johnnydavis54, @achronon, and @everyone. Really appreciate stepping in and finding this conversation going–I’m planning on listening to the recording as soon as I can.
I’d be glad to hop on a future cafe with you all. Taking some time now to contextualize all the linkages in this thread to what else is going on in the CCafe. Sounds exciting! Let’s make it happen.
